over a dozen conventions all over the world and have pictures of myself
with Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Jonathon Frakes,
Brent Spiner, Avery Brooks, Michael Dorn, George Takei, Walter Keonig
and my favourite actor of all time because he played a Scotsman (I was
born in Scotland but raised in England) and as a boy I won a competi-
tion to spend lunch the great James Doohan who as you know played our
great and loveable Scotty, a truly great man, a man who did indeed final
reach the final frontier. It was a great day for me and loved every minute
of it, I just wish my dad had a personal camcorder to record the moment
but I guess pictures will just have to suffice.
Who are some of your favourite Star Trek Characters, and Why?
Oh this must be the hardiest question of all and a question I don’t think
I can truly answer since I’ve been watching star trek for the past 40+
years and have seen some truly great characters so I’ll give a shout out
to the ones I think have been the best throughout the 50 years star trek
has been about. Miles O’Brien and Doctor Bashir for their comic additions
to DS9 saga, Khan for his brilliant way of how he used Shakespeare’s
interpretations of a calm psychopath, Ben Sisko for how his leadership
inspired others, Scotty for his brilliance as a gentleman, a comic and how
a true engineer is meant to be. Data for brilliantly interpreting his strug-
gle to be more human. Worf for showing the true heart of a klingon, even
to other Klingon’s who had waivered during their Klingon lives. Spock
for showing how he too struggled with logic throughout his Vulcan life
and how he managed it with his human side to his existence and finally
James Tiberius Kirk who you may actually not know was actually the
3rd captain of the enterprise, most of us know that Captain Christopher
Pike was in the pilot in ST:TOS but did you know that in the very first
scripts of TOS they actually had a Captain Robert April casted as the
first captain of the enterprise and it was only 3 weeks before airing that
they change it to Pike. Kirk is going to be my final mention as there are
so many but he need to be given a shout for bringing to the table a very
dramatic yet professional stance on how a captain should be and while
serious about this crew and his ship, the character bought a very real life
attitude to the series and it showed in particular which his interactions
with the main cast of the crew, especially with Spock and McCoy , his
closest friends.
Three random facts about you are:
1. I am a retired from active duty police officer; I’m now a consultant
and instructor for the military and police service. I now train folk in mar-
tial arts, close combat techniques, sharp shooting, firearms and close
combats weapons, infiltration tactics, evasion tactics and urban warfare.
2. I have a Huge tattoo on my back with “To Serve and Protect” on it.
Many Years ago my old Sarg got me very drunk and my police buddies
thought it would be funny it lead me into a tattoo parlour to get it done,
my CO wasn’t too happy with it but since it wasn’t visible and he was a
long time friend he let it go.
3. I have a identical twin brother who is also in the military; he is a Royal
Marine Commando.
Anything else you’d like to add?
As Fleet XO I have seen this fleet grow and grow into something more

just like to thank everyone here who has made this wonderful com-
munity into what it is today and only ask that all of you continue to
stay active, have fun, be happy and if you want, contribute in any way
you can in order to help us change and progress with the times and
to continuously improve on the polices and the processes we have so
